Dr. Kevin Kruger

Dr. Kevin Kruger draws on more than 40 years of experience in higher education. Since 2012, he has served as president and CEO for NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. Prior to his role as president, Dr. Kruger worked for 18 years as the associate executive director and served as the chief operating officer (COO) and chief financial officer (CFO) for NASPA. He has held a range of student affairs positions at Southern Methodist University and the University of Maryland. As NASPA president, Dr. Kruger represents student affairs at a variety of national forums and is a frequent contributor to higher education news stories on the college student experience. Dr. Kruger has published and presented nationally and globally on trends in higher education, student success, degree-completion strategies for low-income/first-generation students, and change management and leadership in higher education. Dr. Kruger received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Counseling and Personnel Services from the University of Maryland. He is the proud father of two children, one a recent college graduate and the other a college senior.
Student affairs work includes balancing the day-to-day with planning for the future. Yet, change is constant in our field. How can the student affairs workforce effectively prepare to weather national, cultural, and generational trends and effectively serve students and institutions of the future? In this presentation, NASPA President and CEO Dr. Kevin Kruger will explore ten trends and changes that will define higher education for the remainder of 2023 and beyond.

• Understand the impact of demographic changes on various types of institutions.
• Learn recommendations for addressing staff hiring and retention challenges.
NASPA has been approved by the Higher Education Consortium for Student Affairs Certification to provide CE credit for Certified Student Affairs Educators (CSAEd). NASPA is solely responsible for all aspects of this program.
Guidelines for earning CE credit:
1 CE is awarded for attending this live session.
No partial credit will be rewarded.
Participants must also complete the feedback survey in the Online Learning Community.
Credit is available for attending the live session and viewing the on-demand recording.
Credits must be submitted by December 30, 2023.
To receive CSAEd credit, attendees must complete the Feedback Survey in the online event offering the certification. Once the survey is completed, your Certificate will be available in the event modules. The Certificate of Completion, which will show the event and credit earnings, is available for download and/or print from the event in your Online Learning Community.
