Angela Batista, #TheTransforamtionbyDesignCoach, is the founder and CEO of Transformation by Design. She is a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) and an award-winning, nationally and internationally recognized leadership and organizational consultant and DEIB strategist. She specializes in helping CEOs, Boards, executive teams, and organizations to strategically design inclusive transformation by centering practical strategy and relationships. Over her almost thirty-year career, Angela held key roles in K-12 education, multiple higher education institutions across the United States, and non-profit organizations. This included serving as vice president of student affairs, senior diversity officer, and the 2020-21 NASPA Board Chair.
Angela is the lead co-editor of Latinx/a/os in Higher Education: Exploring Identity, Pathways, and Success. She earned her doctorate in Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and her master’s degree from the University of Vermont. Her undergraduate work was completed at Brooklyn College in New York City. Additionally, Angela is a certified coach and earned certifications in International Gestalt Leadership and Organization Change, Appreciative Inquiry, and Diversity and Inclusion. A seasoned executive administrator, Carrie Lovelace Petr holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Prior to founding her higher-education focused coaching and consulting practice, Carrie served as the Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of the Pacific (CA) and Doane University (NE). Carrie was the founding director of the Zenon CR Hansen Minor in Leadership Studies at Doane University and has practiced leadership development and higher education administration for more than 25 years.
Carrie has lived her professional career in service to higher education staff, students, and faculty. Prior to founding her full-time coaching practice, Carrie served as senior student affairs officer at two institutions; throughout her career in higher education, she has supervised all traditional areas in the field of student affairs. Outside of the student affairs arena, Carrie has enjoyed work as a faculty member, academic adviser, and academic administrator.
Specializing in higher-education executives and professionals in both student affairs and academic affairs, Carrie has expertise in all aspects of leadership, organizational behavior, and talent management. She trained as a certified professional and executive coach at the ICF-accredited College of Executive Coaching and holds credentials as both a Professional Certified Coach (PCC-level) from the International Coaching Federation and a Board-Certified Coach by the Center for Credentialing Education.
