Perceived permissiveness from parents/caregivers about substance use is associated with students’ decisions related to substance use. Parent-based interventions, providing parents with skills to discuss substance use with their student(s), have demonstrated success in impacting and reducing college student substance use. As summer approaches, and as campuses consider opportunities to include parents in prevention efforts before the start of the next academic year, this webinar brings together experts who will discuss these parent influences, intervention opportunities, and the important role of parents as partners in prevention.
