Dylan Dunn (he, him) is the Senior Director of SAFE Campuses at SAFE Project. He has dedicated his career to empowering students impacted by addiction and overdose. In his current role, Dylan works directly with campuses across the country to design and enact harm reduction, recovery, and stigma reduction programs. While based out of Littleton, CO, he has trained over 30,000 people and assisted over 630 universities across all 50 states through his work since 2019. Prior to his time at SAFE Project, Dylan served as a student-facing staff member at Colorado State University and University of Denver.

Nicole Benigno, MSSW (she/her), Assistant Director of SAFE Campuses for Professional Development Programs, is passionate about empowering higher education professionals as they support students and advocate for recovery-friendly campuses. In this role, she enjoys helping programs develop with strategy and organization, developing learning assets, and challenging cultures and systems rooted in stigma. Before joining SAFE Project, Nicole was the first Collegiate Recovery Program Coordinator for Rocky Top Recovery at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Additionally, Nicole previously oversaw the University of Tennessee, Knoxville's Peer Health Educator Program. Nicole holds a Master of Science in Social Work with a concentration in Organizational Leadership from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, as well as a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Victoria or “Vic” Menz is the Assistant Director of SAFE Campuses at SAFE Project. Vic oversees the Collegiate Recovery Leadership Academy, where she supports student leaders in creating an impact on their campuses through equity-centered recovery and harm reduction initiatives. Her professional background includes higher education, public health, and mezzo social work. Before joining SAFE Project, Vic worked in the Student Wellness department at UNC-Chapel Hill. There, she integrated harm reduction strategies into campus practices, managed grant-funded prevention and recovery initiatives, and collaborated with campus departments and community organizations. Her approach focuses on systems-level change, person-centered perspectives, and reducing stigma.
With many campuses being willing to address opioid-related risks within their communities, even more campuses are wondering how to do this work well. Meanwhile, budgets continue to tighten and job responsibilities keep growing. In this session, presenters will outline the current opioid overdose crisis, introduce tools to guide campus prevention and intervention procedures, and expound a framework for strategic naloxone distribution.
