D’Najah Pendergrass Thomas (She/Her) is a practitioner whose work is centered around organizational behavior with a focus on recruitment, professional development, and career advancement. Committed to helping organizations and communities bring about transformational change in these areas, she currently serves as director of The Placement Exchange (TPE) - a partnership of ACUHO-I and NASPA, in collaboration with NACA, NODA, ASCA, and AFA.

Join us as we explore the unique factors that come into play within student affairs as it pertains to lay-offs, including fluctuating enrollment numbers, campus closure or consolidation trends, and the impact of anti-diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) legislation. By shedding light on the challenges and uncertainties that professionals in student affairs face during times of lay-offs and exploring strategies for resilience and adaptation in response to these evolving circumstances, we hope to create a space for SAPros to feel more informed, equipped, and supported to navigate the challenging landscape of being laid off.
