Cecilia M Resurreccion

Executive Director, Center for Student Affairs

University of Asia and the Pacific

Cecilia “Ces” M. Resurreccion, Phd, RGC, RPsy, is the Center for Student Affairs Executive Director, University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P). She is a registered Guidance Counselor and a licensed Psychologist. She was the former Vice Dean of the School of Education at UA&P. She has been a mentor, guidance counselor, and psychologist for many years. She has conducted numerous seminars, training, and academic lectures on resilience, mentoring, mental health, youth development, student well-being, and values development.

She has finished her PhD in Guidance Education at the University of the Philippines and her MA in Counseling Psychology at the Ateneo de Manila University, Loyola Quezon City. She took another MA in Values Education at the University of Asia and the Pacific. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Counseling Association, the Psychological Association of the Philippines, and the Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association. She served as the local chapter president of Alpha Sigma Omega of Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International.

Aray Saniyazova

Head of International Students and Scholars Services

Nazarbayev University

Dr Aray Saniyazova is the Head of International Students and Scholars Services at Nazarbayev University (NU). She joined NU in 2011 as part of the first cohort of NU staff members and held positions of a senior manager of the Office of the President and adviser to the Department of Student Services. From October 1, 2020 till March 31, 2022 she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratory of Student Experience of the Institute of Education at Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia and served as a SERU (Student Experience in the Research University) international research associate at the Center for Studies in Higher Education at UC Berkeley, USA.

Aray earned her Ph.D. in Education from NU Graduate School of Education (2017) and MEd. in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University (USA) (2011). Aray is a founding member of the university committee on campus climate and anti-harassment initiatives. She also serves as a NU representative for the Alliance of Universities "Towards the Enabling Academic Environment", a joint initiative with UNDP to work together to promote gender equality and women's empowerment.

Aray is passionate about providing students with enriching and transformative experiences and has initiated numerous projects striving to empower students to succeed and inspire a culture of community.

Harshita Tripathi

Senior Manager - Office of Research and Partnerships

Harshita Tripathi is an education administrator and actively engages in global engagements and international partnerships. She is vocal on issues pertaining to the higher education sector in India and abroad. She is the recipient of a DST-INSPIRE fellowship and DAAD DIES Fellowship on Management of Internationalization. She is the youngest Indian selected for the “Women in Education Leadership" program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. As an ardent believer in inclusion in education, she has promoted COIL programs within the country and is serving on a Board of Directors for the IVEC, International Virtual Exchange Consortium. She is currently associated with the Office of Research and Partnerships and is pursuing her PhD in the Contemporary History of Higher Education in India from Shiv Nadar IoE.

Omneya Badr (Moderator)

Senior Academic Advisor

Trinity Washington University

Omneya Badr, an educator and student affairs professional, gained a culturally diverse experience studying, teaching, and working in Bahrain, Qatar, Egypt, UK and the USA. Omneya is a longtime NASPA volunteer. She was the director of MENASA NASPA area 2022-2024, the 2021 and 2022 MENASA Conference chair, member of NASPA's International Symposium Committee and the International Education Knowledge Community (IEKC). She is a frequent presenter at NASPA conferences and her research interests are culturally based Academic Advising, supporting First-generation students, FYE, and cross-cultural communication. She holds an MBA from the University of Bath – UK, a Certificate of Entrepreneurial and Small Business Operation from the Academy of Arts, California - USA, and a BA in Management from the American University in Cairo - Egypt. She recently acquired a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from the University of South Florida - USA. As an educator, Omneya enjoys giving back to the profession and is interested in creating professional development opportunities and encouraging Student Affairs Professionals to research and share knowledge among counterparts around the world.

Wadad El Housseini (Moderator)

Consultant to Vice President - Student Affairs

Qatar University

Ms. Wadad Youssef El Housseini started her career as in higher education as Instructor of Social Sciences at Balamand University in Lebanon where she taught for a decade. In 2001, she joined the American University of Beirut as Director of Student Activities. In 2009, she joined Qatar University as Consultant to VP of student affairs where she resumed the responsibility of Acting Director of Student Activities till May 2012. Her role entitled her to get involved in various strategic initiatives to ensure the success of Qatar University students. She is the chair of the Student Affairs Professional Development committee at Qatar University.

Founding member and former vice president for the IASAS (International Association of Student Affairs and Services). Member of the MENASA-NASPA board for 2020-2023. Recipient of the Wisdom Award of the Commission of Women’s Identities – ACPA in 2021. Interested in Leadership of Higher Education and Student Affairs, assessment and women role in higher education.

Well known for having her finger on the pulse of the region, Wadad continues to be an engaged advocate of professional development, and student affairs leadership in the Middle East.
