This Region I Block Party will feature speakers from each associated Knowledge Community. Each speaker will provide a brief glimpse into what they are currently doing in each of their respective areas: what challenges they’re facing, what strategies they’re employing to meet said challenges, what questions are currently driving their work, and ultimately, how they are cultivating professional, personal, and academic success for students on their campuses. Emerging from these micro presentations will be one overarching, open-ended question that will serve as the basis for discussion in breakout rooms. These breakout rooms will be run by separate Knowledge Community leaders. These breakout rooms will invite different perspectives on the same line of inquiry. There will be a worksheet made available to all participants in advance with guiding questions and topics to keep discussion focused. Afterwards, breakout rooms will come together and share out.
Learning Outcomes:
1. How has AI affected success models for the students you work with or your institution more broadly? How have you collaborated with other offices at your institution to support the students you work with in ways that you have surprised you? How can we support the whole student as a full-bodied human being beyond the classroom and recognize how many different systems intersect? (i.e., finances, mental health, co-curricular life, academics, student organizations, housing, childcare, disability services…)
