VPSA & AVP Colleague Conversation: High-stakes: Evolution of Gambling and Prediction Markets on College Campuses-A Strategic Prevention Priority
Includes a Live Web Event on 09/17/2026 at 4:00 PM (EDT)
Sports betting, gambling, and prediction markets have evolved rapidly across college campuses with college-going populations increasingly at risk for addiction and other gambling-adjacent behaviors that impact their well-being, student success, and our campuses. With the recent rise of prediction markets, this adds additional complexity to the challenge of gambling harms and addiction.
During this colleague conversation we will hear from Pamela Brenner-Davis, Director of the Bureau of Prevention and Special Programs at the New York Council on Problem Gambling to share the current landscape of gambling, sports betting, and prediction market behavior and addiction on college campuses along with promising prevention and education strategies. Participants will share what they are seeing on their campuses and promising programs, strategies, and policies to aid in supporting students.
