NASPA Global Division presents the "Global Hour", an event inviting colleagues from around the globe to meet and attend an interactive presentation about global changes and shifts in Higher Education and Student Affairs. Attendees will have the chance to explore professional development resources and engagement opportunities with NASPA's global members and receive information about professional development opportunities.

Kerrie Montgomery Orozco

Kerrie Montgomery Orozco

Dr. Kerrie Montgomery Orozco boasts a 25-year career in higher education, specializing in international education, student programming, strategic planning, leadership, and teaching. She's held progressively responsible roles in academic advising, study abroad, and campus life at various institutions. Kerrie is also an accomplished writer, with publications in the peer-reviewed Journal of International Students. 

Kerrie has been an active member of NASPA for more than 20 years. She has held a number of volunteer leadership roles and currently serves as Professional Development Chair for the Global Division, Membership & Engagement Chair for the Mid-Level Administrators Steering Committee, and NASPA-FL Conference Chair. She is a past Chair for the International Symposium, and remains active on the planning committee for the 2024 International Symposium.

Kerrie holds a BA in Classical Studies, dual Masters degrees from the University of Florida in Art History and Higher Education, and a PhD in Higher Education from the University of Denver.

Omneya Badr

Omneya Badr

Omneya Badr is an educator and student affairs professional who gained a culturally diverse higher education experience studying, teaching and working in Bahrain, Qatar, Egypt, UK and USA.

Badr serves on NASPA’s Board of Directors and is the director of NASPA’s Global Division (2024-2026), past director of MENASA NASPA area (2022-2024), and the 2021 and 2022 MENASA* Conference chair.  Badr held teaching and academic advising positions at New York Institute of Technology Bahrain, Bahrain Institute of Business and Finance, Qatar University and Trinity University USA. She is a frequent presenter at NASPA and NACADA conferences and her research interests are culturally based Academic Advising, supporting First generation students, FYE, and cross-cultural communication.

She holds an MBA from the University of Bath – UK, a Certificate of Entrepreneurial & Small Business Operations from the Academy of Arts, California - USA & a BA in Management from the American University in Cairo - Egypt.  She recently acquired a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from the University of South Florida - USA. 

As an educator, Omneya enjoys giving back to the profession and is interested in creating professional development opportunities for global Student Affairs professionals and encouraging research and sharing knowledge among counterparts around the world.

Janelle Nicole Rahyns

NASPA - Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education

Dr. Janelle Nicole Rahyns is a global higher education leader with more than two decades of experience advancing student development, international engagement, and organizational impact across universities and professional associations worldwide. She currently serves as Senior Director of Global Impact at NASPA, where she leads the association’s global strategy, oversees international partnerships, and drives cross‑functional initiatives that strengthen professional learning, staff development, and global program delivery.

A scholar‑practitioner with deep expertise in international and comparative education, Dr. Rahyns has shaped global learning ecosystems across more than 50 countries throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, and the Americas. Her leadership portfolio includes executive oversight of global conferences, intercultural learning programs, virtual education platforms, and multi‑country academic initiatives.

Prior to her senior leadership roles at NASPA, Dr. Rahyns served as Vice Rector and Assistant Dean at Yale‑NUS College in Singapore, where she provided institutional leadership for academic advising, student development, diversity and inclusion, crisis response, and residential education. She has also held multiple roles with Semester at Sea and UCLA Residential Life, contributing to research, assessment, student conduct, leadership development, and global experiential learning.

Dr. Rahyns holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences and Comparative Education from the University of California, Los Angeles; an M.Ed. in Student Personnel in Higher Education from the University of Florida; and a B.A. in Political Science. She is an IASAS Global Expert and has served as a delegate and program lead for numerous international summits and conferences.

Across her career, Dr. Rahyns has been recognized for her strategic vision, global perspective, and ability to build inclusive, high‑impact learning communities. She continues to champion international collaboration, leadership development, and transformative educational experiences for students and professionals around the world.
